As I was taking some of my pictures last week, it was getting near sunset and I was trying to capture the colors in our glass block bathroom window. None of them were terribly interesting, so after sunset I experimented with opening up the aperture to see what the effect would be. Even though it was dusk, it looks like the aliens just landed.
This effect is heightened by using a fog or diffusion filter on the lens and sometime a fog machine in the room. Pretty scary..
