Deep Focus

We haven't really talked about depth of field yet (I'm sure Mr. Mark will get to it when he's ready) but I ran across this link on twitter. The idea is to shoot using deep focus or long depth of field so that foreground and background are both in focus. This is natural for the human eye and brain, but more of a challenge for the camera, which needs to make choices based on available light, aperture, shutte speed, and "film" speed.

Check out this link, both for examples of deep focus and for some great examples of composition.

  1. Very interesting stuff. Yes, we will be talking about depth of field and how to control it.
