The Inventor of the Digital Camera

Check out this short interview with the inventor of the digital camera. Looks like technology from the stone age. Hey, that's when I was in college!

Because this Blog is Empty

I changed one of my landscapes from this week to black and white, then edited back in the color of the farm machinery. Plow? No idea what it is...

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

As I was taking some of my pictures last week, it was getting near sunset and I was trying to capture the colors in our glass block bathroom window. None of them were terribly interesting, so after sunset I experimented with opening up the aperture to see what the effect would be. Even though it was dusk, it looks like the aliens just landed.

iPhone Photojournalism Causes Aesthetic Controversy

I ran across an interesting post that addresses an issue Mr. Mark has brought up a couple of times in class. In terms of photo documentary, what is real and what isn't? Clearly there are shades of gray in making decisions about these type of images. In this case, the photos were taken in Afghanistan using an iPhone and applying a number of effects to images as they were taken.

Looking down on Main St.

Leaning over the edge of a roof? Not a good idea.

From the NSA roof

My first time looking at Main St. from above :)

Assignment: Documentary

Not sure if I got this right or not, but I always feel like old buildings tell a story...

A Bunch of Cousins

We had six kids over to our little apartment to have dinner (McDonald's!) and watch a movie (Despicable Me). While it was rather wild for most of the time, it was entertaining and once the movie was on at least they kind of zoned out. :) The assignment for this week - "Photo Documentary" - is kind of hard for me but I hope this picture at least sort of tells a story. :)
